Resource Description Framework

Description:

The Resource Description Framework (RDF) integrates a variety of applications from library catalogs and world-wide directories to syndication and aggregation of news, software, and content to personal collections of music, photos, and events using XML as an interchange syntax. The RDF specifications provide a lightweight Ontology system to support the exchange of knowledge on the Web: [ source= http://www.w3.org/RDF/ ]

Articles

A good overview of what RDF is about and what RDF can mean for us can be found on O'Reillys XML.COM: What is RDF? by Dan Brickley, chair of the W3C's RDF Interest Group

O'Reilly has a book on RDF out now called Practical RDF from Shelley Powers who also has a Weblog discussing the subject.

Tutorials

A good RDF tutorial by Pierre-Antoine Champin, with references to syntax and definitions such as triples, literals and URIs can be found on the University of Lyons site: [ http://www710.univ-lyon1.fr/~champin/rdf-tutorial/ ]
