Today, the 25th of September 2003 the virtual-museum.at Weblog opens.
As it's German counterpart virtuelles-museum.at, virtual-museum.at
is aimed at communicating and discussing development concerning virtual
museums and Meta museums both on the net and elsewhere.
The two weblogs are maintained separately, and only loosely interact.
They are not replicas of each other, although we will try to post
important developments on both sites. Articles that are translations of
each other will be marked/linked as such.
Both blogs were initiated by FOX medialab in Vienna, Austria to give
special attention to web-architecture, communication strategies,
technological developments, and intelligent interfaces used for
educational and museal purposes.
FOX has been involved in both cultural and educational projects
on the web almost since it's beginning*. This experience
cumulated in it's latest project, the virtual museum tuerkenbeute.de,
a co-development with the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie
(ZKM) and Badischen Landesmuseum (BLM) in Germany.
